Why do they have stress cards in Marine Boot Camp?

It's gotten weaker in the past 6 years. I heard stories about how much it's changed.From newbies just arriving at their first permanent party assignment... they hand out something called "stress cards" that you can show the Drill Instructor. if you feel like you're being "too pressured" by the Marine Sgt you can make him say "I'm sorry. It's nonsense and horsesh**. Basic is SUPPOSED to be hard, and civilian know-nothings have no business telling the Marines how to train brand-new Marines. They NEED to be toughened up if they ever expect them to survive in a war, and especially be able to put up with all the BS that the Marines will put them through for the duration of their service time. If you hamstring the effectiveness of the training and proven, effective methods, you're going to end up with fewer and fewer capable soldiers who will be suited to handle the stress of their jobs. Maybe that's why the Marines are not doing a good job in the Military.

This is true Ive talked to Marine Recruiters who have said that they have had stress cards in boot camp for a bit now. One of them just got done with being a Marine drill instructor at Pendelton. They said they hate it, but nothing they can do anout it.

I went though boot camp in 1992. We heard the same stories about the platoons coming after us. I think it is more an urban legend than fact. Most Marines I tell me they heard that the series after theirs had stress cards, but I never met anyone who has see one.
There are no "stress cards" in Marine Corp Boot Camp.

That is a bunch of B.S. Who told you this a army person? That is what the army boot camp does.
I know that the Army tried stress cards in BCT for a year and then dropped it because it wasn't effective training. I would be suprised if the Marines started using them.
It's not true... my son graduated boot camp 3 years ago.. and my neighbor's son just graduated a few weeks ago... there are NO stress cards in Marine Corps Boot... as a matter of fact, the DI's use the notion of "stress cards" to help motivate the recruits to be better than Army recruits... who they're told DO get "stress cards"...
This is a complete rumor. 2 of my friends are in the Marines and said that a report started the rumor as a joke. There is no such thing as a stress card. It wouldn't be the Marines if they had these.
